Because sports cars are gay and trucks are cool, no matter what you do to them. My slammed truck hits turns like any sports car plus it hauls more steel and crap on a daily basis than most of them on here, yours included, I guarantee it. I'm glad you reposted with a good attitude btw...props to you for that.

I like both street trucks and off road trucks. I had an '81 c10 before my taco, and it was a great street truck. I would have lowered it but due to where I lived, i couldn't because of the crappy mountain roads. So I got my taco since its made for rougher conditions. If I had to get another truck right now it would probably be a lowered sport truck because you don't really need 2 1/2" lift and All terrains in the city.

I also don't like lowered trucks, to me trucks are meant to be lifted while cars are to lower BUT everyone has there own taste which is a good thing. If you like it why not do it.

Now I think I do understand-- different people like different vehicles and different foods and different kinds of music and, well... everyone is different. So basically, if you like crawling or mud bogging, jack it up and get some meaty knobs because that will serve your interests. If you like better handling but still be able to haul some equipment and stuff, slam it down because that will serve your interests. Not everyone shares my opinion and I knew that all along, maybe I needed a reminder. My truck is going to stay stock... nice and normal and boring and useful and reliable. Because that will serve my interests, plus I really don't need any extra attention. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and feelings about this topic, I am schooled.

I commend you for your honestly and respect!!

It's all about respect... Respecting what others like/dislike even if its different from your own.

That's what's so cool about them..... they can air up and be at normal ride height (or whatever) and air down and be slammed on the ground.

A whole other ball game in terms of suspension setup.

Whoa, that wasn't meant to be smart or anything, just noting on the practicality of the thing.

I would hate to go over anything other than a flat road without potholes (not very likely).

Yeah. I can only imagine the work to do that. Unless, he swapped the chassis from a base model extended cab.

my friend had to special order a custom 2wd 4 banger 5speed 4runner. 8 months to get.no dealer wanted to order it for him(not sure why)at the time there was no lowering kits for the 4runner. he had to cut everything out and get tacoma susp from a salvage yard to do the swap.

This would be a truly BORING world if we all liked exactly the same thing. Variety is the spice of life. Just because something doesn't suit your personal taste doesn't make it bad or "retarded". I like broccoli... a lot of people don't. So what?

Oh, and to the person who said it was "stupid" to buy a 4-banger when you could buy a V6 and have more power/capacity, I have three numbers for you: 14, 26, and 3500. I paid less then $14K for my truck brand new, it gets 26 MPG (which is important on my 100-mile round-trip commute) and it has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs - which is more than adequate for towing my 17' bowrider boat (and the engine handles it very well too). It also does a great job of hauling both of my motorcycles. In short, it does everything *I* need a truck to do for a LOT less money than a V6 4x4 crew-cab long bed would have cost me. Some people may actually NEED a giant V6 4x4, but I know there's a LOT of them rolling around getting 15 MPG that never see as much as a gravel road and never haul anything but a couple bags of garbage. But... there again... different strokes and all that.
