what's the best intake system for Tacoma Sport?

Im looking for a intake system for a 11 Tacoma Sport.. Do they make cowl intake kit for the sport? Ive looked at toyotas upgraded intake, K&N, Volant, and RBPs intake.. any ideas??

 

they all sux just keep with your stock one.

 

Just grab a drop in filter replacement. Best thing you can do.

Chris4x4, a Moderator on here, ran Dyno tests that showed minimal gains with the "cold air" intake systems. Some of them even showed a loss of horsepower. The main thing youre buying with them is the looks and the sounds of a intake cone. (which actually isnt really cold air, since its taking air from the engine bay)

Then what would the best way to get more power? I always thought putting exhaust and an intake on the motor was the best way to get more power?

 

drop in filter, exhaust (depending on which one you get),headers...

You wont see HUGE gains unless you get the TRD supercharger though

 

They do suck... air, and from a price / performance standpoint they suck even more.

The performance gained from an intake is in the upper rpm range like 3-5k. Now if you drive in this range, get it. If not, save your money.

As a possible mpg saver option, the amount saved by buying one of these would take a long time to justify the costs.

the most popular thing to do here is the supercharger. Toyota makes one specifically for the engine, so theres no crazy R&D work that has to be done to make it work.

 

Where can I get ahold of some headers?
I have an Airaid CAI and I would say that its one of the better ones out there but the only time I see anything from it is on long drives I see slightly better mpg but that could be from the true duals. I say save your money and get the supercharger, might not be a huge increase but itll do pretty good on theese little trucks and save you some gas
