I'd really like to get a 4.5 or 6" lift but I am not to fond of cuttin the crossmember on a truck that's not even two months old. Does anyone make one? Or is cutting the xmember really not that bad. I know once you do it you can never go back...

Nobody makes a kit that doesn't have to cut the cross-member to get that much lift. I know if you cut the crossmember, you could always buy another factory cross-member if you ever wanted to go back to stock. I wouldn't want to do it until the warranty ran out, but that's just my opinion.

FWIW, You CAN go back. I recently got rid of a 6" DB lift on my 1st Gen Taco. Including welding #2 crossmemebr back in. Now has 'only' King CO's and rear AAL w/5100's. (Much better now).

YOu have to cut the cross member because anything more that 3" requires a drop bracket (unless you have a prerunner). The drop bracket kit also relocates the front diff. It lowers it to maintain the front CV angles, But you still have to connect the front drive shaft from the T-case to the Diff. In a stock 4x4 truck the front drive shaft goes over the cross member, but will hit the cross member when the diff is lowered, so the cross member has to be cut to provide clearance for the front drive shaft. Prerunners require no cutting for a drop bracket or spindles. Cutting the cross member is not that difficult. I just did solus' not too long ago. We just used a sawzall. Just make sure you lubricate the blade or you will dull it out very fast.

X2, camburg spindles give 4" of lift and then get coilovers or 5100's and put them around 2" and you will get 6" total, then you just have to do something for the back, like a custom leaf pack from alcan for $500. But only of your a Prerunner.
