    Hello TacomaWorld:

I wanted to open my first post with the question of a suspension issue in regards to adding a bed/ storage compartment to my stock 09 Tacoma SR5 package, similar to the BajaTaco. My bed mod will be one-sided (passenger side), whether or not this design is fatal for a suspension over long distance, it what I'm curious about. The light-weight wooden frame bed/storage bins will be about 100 lbs at the most. With a stock suspension (shocks/leaf springs, etc.) is this a bad design?

If I was set on making the mod one-sided, what would I need to do to the suspension (rear/front/ or both) to make it so this bed-mod would not destroy my suspension over high mileage.

My understanding of mechanics and trucks is elementary so any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    R.D.
