Looking to regear

Like the title says im looking to regear but dont know much about it can anyone both enlighten me about the ring and pinion gears i know i want bigger gears talked to a guy and said that a 4.10 is a smaller gear but its a bigger number then the stock 3.73 or whatever i have i cant remember also any serious offroaders tell me what yall are running with and where you got them thanks guys

 

Looking into this myself. As I understand it, 4.56 is the popular choice for those offroading on 35" tires. For those with 33" tires, 4.11 will put you close to factory gearing, however the difference in tire size from 31 to 33 is so minimal that most choose not to regear. That's about all I can tell you.
