    bilstien 5100's and aftermarket coils not recomended?

    I have looked into the adjustable front struts for my 02 prerunner but also looking into new coils since there is almost 200K miles on them.
    In all i am looking for a 3" lift no more than that but im not looking to spend alot of money and dont really want spacers.

    any suggestions are great.. thanks in advance

    Many of us are happy with our Bilstein 5100s & aftermarket coil setups.

    OME or Eibach coils with either OME Nitrocharger or Bilsteins shocks - Can't go wrong with either combo...

    I'm a big fan of OME 881s with the 5100s. ;) You will, however, find others who prefer to run Nitrochargers with OME coils. (IIRC, they find the 5100s a little too stiff.) IMO, that makes this somewhat of a personal preference issue.

    I've never used spacers, so I can't really offer much of an opinion on them.

    Depending on the condition of your leafs, you may want to consider a new pack rather than an AAL. Tacomas are known for having weak stock leafs, which tend to go flat (or take-on a negative arch) pretty quickly. An AAL might "band-aid" this problem in the short-term but, since they're not designed to replace the leafs, they will also go flat. The best solution for flat leafs is a new leaf pack.

    leaf pack doesnt look to bad from what i recall but i will need to look again
    the spacer part not sure if im even going to use the spacer...
    with 881 coils would that allow the bilstiens at the 0 setting and still achieve almost a 3" lift?
    and also would i need new UCA's?

    My 881s gave me about 2.5" of lift. (Pre- and post-lift numbers are located at http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/gr...rs-5-leafspring-group-buy-19.html#post3184888. Post-left pictures are in the same thread, with more in my Gallery.)

    I did not need new UCAs, which I don't think you (usually) need unless you go over 3" of lift. Be aware, however, getting a good alignment without them CAN be somewhat tricky. Mine was a little sloppy until I also replaced the steering rack bushings, after which I've been very happy with the results.

    I just noticed you've got a 2.7L (4-cyl). Your lift experience may, therefore, vary from mine. Before making a final decision on 881s (vs possibly 880s), recommend you talk with the experts at . (I found them very helpful when I bought my coils and leafs.)

    The best deal on 5100s is, however, at DownSouth Motorsports.

    I just purchased a set of Bilstein 5100's all around and the Eibach 3" springs for the front.

    I can't wait to get these installed to get rid of my current coil spacers and rear blocks *thumb down*

    Pics to follow as I am also putting in a new leaf pack to replace my saggy leafs!.

    Very nice but, for the cost of those, you can get the entire OME and/or Bilstein (front and rear) lift "package". Unless you've got a surplus of cash, I know what I'd do...

    toytec ultimate lift package? price is good for me and gives me the rear aal

    only question now would be if its bad to put an aal on flat leaf springs and replace them later on

    There's not really a Bilstein "package" per se, since Bilstein only makes the shocks. What I meant to suggest was either an package or some combination of and Bilstein (front and rear) components. Toytec and Eibach also offer high "bang for the buck" options. I realize you usually get what you pay for but, for those of us on a more strict budget, those coilovers probably don't pass the "bang for the buck" test. Again, if money is no object, I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

    AAL is certainly an option, but it's only going to delay inevitable replacement of the worn-out leafs.

    i think ima have to go with the ome total lift package after closer look it comes with the new leafs and from all i have heard the ride is better with the nitro shocks not the billies and it doesnt look like is has the rear shocks wich i will then need to get seprately

    I'm looking to get 5100s all around and AAL to keep it level. I just need to fix the rubbing issue with 265/70 BFG AT and I don't wanna go spacer route this time. Will setting @1.75" clear my rubbing issues on turns?

    2011 Pre-runner, access cab. Will setting front B 5100's at 1.75 level my truck? Rear suspension will remain stock. I don't want it front end high. any input?
