Here's another, hopefully not so common question: I was looking to get the Toytec ultimate lift kit with the rear springs, but was curious if I could run a 1-2 inch body lift in conjunction to clear 35's? Does anyone even make that little of a kit? Also would there be any negative side effects with doing so?

Thanks for the tutorial, I learned quite a bit. Does anyone have picture of a 4 door longbed with this lift and tires (or anything close)? Don't want to go Mini monster, but beefed up and able to drive deep sand. thanks

In my 09 Dbl cab TRD offroad model, I experience the same issue you speak of in regards to the rear suspension bottoming out constantly with any load in the rig. I will likely be adding airbags if an OME3" lift doesn't do the trick as I plan to upgrade when the stocker tires are shot.

I've had OME on other rigs and just love it. The TRD offroad suspension is pretty weak on performance IMO.

That's awesome, I have the Firestone Ride-Rite air springs installed on my '05 and was wondering if I would be able to add the Bilstein 5100 shocks. Good to know it won't do anything to the air springs.

This post is exactly what I needed! I just bought my '07 Double Cab and it definitely needs a lift. I've found two different sites that seem to have the best options, but the one from ToyTec has raised some questions: What would be the advantage of going with new front coils instead of just spacers for the front. And if I do get the kit with new coils, what's the difference in the 884, 885, and 886's? This one seems like a simpler kit:

But I want the best for my truck. One more question: Do I need to get new shocks such as the Bilstein 5100's or does that just depend on how well it rides with the lift?

    Thanks in advance!

tryin to put up pics i got stock rims and no other stuff like yall are talkin about. no uca's ucb's ucc's or spacers or lift or anything. just 285 75 16's and they only rub when doing a left hand u-turn or extreme turning or hittin holes off the road. Trying to read up on all this lift stuff and new contol arms. cause they do rub on the upper control arms but it causes no damage, just it rubbed off the black on the control arm no tire damage or truck damage.

Hey so I just bought a used 05 dbl cab TRD sport and the previous owner put a 3" Revtek spacer lift on it with 285/75/R16 tires. Now im new to the seen and eager to learn, i dont do any off roading as of yet i bought the truck because i love Toyota's and i needed something that i could get in and out of the backcounty for skiing. I have been doing a lot of reading and by the sounds of it the Revtek lift is garbage and from what i can tell i should go to a toytec OME. the problem is i dont have that kind of money right now, and the other thing is im not sure if i really need something like the OME untill i start doing more off roading. So i guess my question is can the Revtek handle basic off roading like what i find to get in and out of the backcountry? or there another less expersive option?

if you can handle loosing .5 of an inch you can just get some bilstein 5100's.

    Got a question...I have a 2004 Base ext. cab.

How would you go about LEVELING the truck?

Don't need huge tires, don't want to mess with mpg's, just want to bring the front up level with the rear.

    Thanks!

Will 5100's work on a base Tacoma...it is not a Prerunner or 4x4?
