Best after market Rear Locker?

What do you guy recommend for after marker rear locking diffs?
Having trouble finding any for my 05. Thanks!

 

toyota locker is the best! You should have bought the 05 tacoma with the e-locker

I would think the Elocker would be better for the weekend warrior. IMO less things to have to worry about. No compressor or airlines. all that stuff.

Im also looking for a one. Do you know what kind of Locker the Tacomas come with? ive been looking around for one and cant seem to find one. Im going to check out that Eaton tho.

 

If you guys are looking for an e locker check out ttora or a more Offroad oriented site and prey on 2nd gen tacos who are saving up about to go through with rear LT. Lots of them swap axles to tundra ones and sell their current ones. Or check salvage yards?

 

Noob Question: So the best bet is to just replace the axle or just piece it out? Im not really familiar with Diffs

 

You have to weigh your options. Not really sure what you're asking here.

If you're considering buying a TRD Offroad axle (with toyota locker in it) - make sure it has the same exact gear ratio that you have. If it doesn't, then you'll be spending more money to regear so the front & rear match. Regearing isn't cheap and should be done by a professional. Also, hooking up the switches to make it engage/disengage and anything else you come across while installation.

Do some more research.

ARB's aren't cheap but you keep your current axle. You will need to pay for regearing because you're replacing the entire carrier inside the diff. You'll also need a small air compressor & air line. ARB lockers may sound complicated, but when they're installed properly - they're awesome. I had 2 of them in my jeep and never had any problems for 8 years. I highly recomment a professional install.

I would get the ARB. It engages faster and is stronger. I'd also rather worry about air lines than electronics.
