DO NOT preload the OME coils. 5100 were designed specifically for adjusting (leveling) the height of original Tacoma coils only, which are a 375-lb coil. That is what the little spring clip was desgined for, and it couls fail if overloaded with a stronger spring. The OME coils are 500-lb coils, and because they are longer, they provide the lift, not the 5100s, which are just acting as a normal shock in this setup. And they work great like this.

1st gen are 880, 881, and 882. Each is 10mm taller than they previous model. All are 500-lb non-progressive coils. Which one you should use depends on your truck (cab, engine, etc.) and intended use/lift. This may help clarify:

I don't have all my other handy OME specs, um, handy at the moment.

I know it's a MAJOR pain to answer questions that have probably already been asked 500 times in other threads ;), but can anyone pls help me out with my above questions? Yes, I did multiple searches but got tired of wading through dozens and dozens of posts that were not relevant to my questions.

    Mahalo!

No, no, and no. Disconnecting the sway bar when you install them will help a lot though. I have the exact same setup. Although I did read that ubilts are cheap and SHOULD be replaced, I reused my old ones.

Yeah it definitely was. I just did my 5100s yesterday and its way easier to remove the swaybar. Its only a few bolts, and worth the extra 10 mins to remove and 10 mins to reinstall.

Hey Trdracing, I was wondering which bushing kit that you got. Im doing pretty much the same thing as you and i know that im gonna need them I just don't know what to get at this point.

and I was also wondering about the KYB shock mount also. Why did you decide to replace the stock one?

    Thanks
