i have a 00 tacoma prerunner, im in the market for new coilover shocks for the front lift of around 2-3in and a better ride than OEM. im not super picky and dont need some super expensive stuff because budget is low.

can you tell me any suggestions of affordable ones and how much?

In my opinion I would wait until you are able to get the best. Thats what I do, I just think it would suck shelling out hundreds of dollars 800 bucks for something that you dont love, when you could wait and spend a couple extra bucks and get the best. With that being said

    KING FTW!

TRD supercharger,EMU 884 springs, 90000 shocks, air bags rear and TSB with EMU shocks, grillcraft mesh, Relentless front bumper,Armology rear bumper, byxenon hid's retro ,undercover lid with bike rack on top, Kenwood dnx9140,TRD cover seats
I have the Icon's but I can tell you that I was verry impressed with my friend EMU.
I can go much faster on turns but he is more comfy in straight line , even if he is set at about 1" higher then me.

I see you are talking about the front only. Don't forget that you will have to do something for the back also. Unless you are planing to put blocks ??? you will have to spend some $$$ on new springs.

For $1100 ,, you may be able to get a full (front and back) EMU set. Icon's benefit is that you can always go back to stock height or any other height (bellow 2.5") if you develope vibrations and (or) you don't like the way it rides.
Either way, based on what the guys are saying in this forum,,,, - they are both excellent choices.

don't forget to look at used coilovers. you can get a used set of SAW or Icon for a lot less than new. thats what i did and i have been almost completely happy except the guy i bought em from for some reason lock-tighted the adjustment collar to the threads and cost me 150 bucks and a few busted tools for a mechanic to break it free
