Help me choose a lift

Hi,

I just bought an 08 DC long box TRD and I would like to put a 3" lift in it. I had a 3" spacer lift on my 06 NISMO and it seemed to be ok. There seems to be lots of options for toyota's. I have done a bit of looking but can't decide. I am looking to get 3" just for some extra ground clearance for rocks and such. I don't do a lot of mudbogging and don't really drive in the bush, just for the sake of it, but I do end up on the occasional washed out logging road with exposed boulders and bedrock. I would rather not buy UCAs if I don't have to and I plan to keep the stock tire size. I have my lift narrowed down to 3 options, all from Toytec: Spacers, 5100s or OME.

Well a lifted coil/shock combo would be a better ride and performance vs a spacer lift.
Do you plan on hauling anything with your truck?

 

You wouldn't really add ground clearance without putting bigger tires under there either. I would probably suggest some 5100's for you though. OME is nice if you are willing to spend a little extra money.

 

I do haul fire wood and a snowmobile a few times year but that is about it for heavy stuff. Two dirt bikes would be in there on a somewhat regular basis.

 

So for what you are using the truck for, you will probably want to use a single leaf aal set. Then just get the 5100s front and rear and set the fronts at 2.5"
