CV Axles w/leveling kit (Ripped boots)

Hey guys--

The boots tore on my CV Axles due to a 3" leveling lift on the front and the angle being too steep. I was told I could adjust the boots on the new CV Axles I picked up, moving them down a little bit.

Has anyone tackled and solved this issue so the boots don't rip? I'm not sure if I want the hassle or doing it, or if I just replace the CV Axles each year, or, this one time and then pick up an actual lift.

 

what lift do you have? you can install a diff drop but there are downsides to it just like everything else.

i have been running at 2.5 for almost a year with no cv problems....no wear at all
mabye try lowering it a lil

 

I.E., buying a new leveling lift, or just buying a new lift all together?

 

Check this out: This kit will improve the CV Axle angles. Depending on how much angle you have, the diff drop kit may be enough to keep the fins on your boots from being in contact.

 

I hear the diff drop could allow debris (rocks, hills, small animals) to whack it and cause underbody damage. Should I even try it, or just deal with boots now and then?

A boot, over a boot? Might do the trick.
