I'm going to be lifting my truck real soon. I'm getting an idea on what I

think i'm going to be getting 5100's on all four with ome 882's i believe.

(coilovers are still in the back of my mind but 5100's seems a lot cheaper

    and somewhat effective)

i'm eventually going to get an off road bumper. now i'm not exactly sure if

i'm going to need UCA's? thats what i'm confused about. this is still my

daily driver but i'm going to be doing off roading when i can.. (busy with

school and work and dirtbiking lol) i already know what tires i want but

just need to decide on wheels... now the real questions are... what aal

should i get? say i want to have a more wider stance up front how exactly

can i do that without going long travel? i don't want the long travel setup

because it's way to much green... but i do want a wider stance then

    stock.. any advice is appreciated.

Can't do that. Billy's are designed to be run with stock shocks. If you run them with OME or Eibach, they should not be set at anything above 0.85". You will have basically no down-travel left if you set them any higher.

    Small lift and a topper!
I would do your lift in a few stages, to make sure each change does what you want it to do.

I would do your rear AAL first, then your front (since your front will have a little adjustability, which you can do to attempt to match whatever your rear did), then get an alignment, then UCAs if your alignment couldn't get close enough to spec.

5100s up front with a lighter OME coil or eibach coil will get you some lift - but if you stay under 2.5", you may not need UCAs. My recommendation would be to get the front setup on the way you want it, get an alignment, and see if they can get it into spec - if they can't, then you may need UCAs. They offer no other benefit in this application besides allowing proper alignment. It is a vehicle specific thing, so get yours aligned before you drop that $500 additional, to see if you need it. May people with 2-2.5" lifts do not end up needing them.

For rear AALs, you can't go wrong with most major brands - they aren't really rocket science. Wheelers and Toytec both offer reasonably priced AALs for your truck. I'd recommend getting new U-bolts at the same time, most are so rusty that they would be frustrating to reuse. I have Wheeler's 3 leaf progressive AAL, which comes with Ubolts already, and was pleasantly surprised by the ride - and it added about 2.5" to the rear.

If you want to do Coilovers, but are on a regular human being's budget, I'd look into the SAW 2.0s (Sway away), Wheeler's offroad has good prices. It is a popular cheaper coilover - nothing super fancy, but good quality. You can also shop used - I got a very good deal on extremely lightly used Icon Coilovers for my '96 by shopping Craigslist, Buy and Sell forum here, and the classifieds at Race-dezert.com for a few weeks.

4x4 or prerunner? Spindle lifts are only for prerunners.
