Traction Bars

I was told that i can put helper springs on upside sown on top of the leaf and it will work as a traction bar.
Has anyone else heard of this?

put them on n front of the rear wheels on the bottom of the leafsprings was what was said n the cheap mods . i just bought a set today just waitn 4 the rain to stop so i can put them on
