ToyTec changed their Add-a-Leafs.

I ordered a 3" lift from ToyTec. I read numerous different threads that stated the ToyTec Add-a-Leafs were Alcan springs, but when my kit came in the mail, the rear Add-a-Leaf springs were Deavers!? I called toytec to verify if they sent the correct spring, which they did. I asked the tech. why they no longer use the Alcan springs and why they switched to Deaver, but he gave me no straight answer. He told me that the switch in brand names was very recent, but thats all he would tell me. I'm just curious. Does anyone have a clue as to why they would stop using the alcans? Who makes a better Leaf, Alcan or Dever?

I don't go off-roading very often. The main reason I got the lift is for looks and ground clearance. I may haul a 4-wheeler in the truck bed during the summer, but that is about it.

Mine is older but glad to hear that either way we all win based on those 2 companies. I'd guess maybe a contract ended and someone else had a better bid.

Its still the exact same leaf. All the specs are the same. Just a different company.

I have the deaver ones on my truck and can't tell a difference from the Alcans I had. Both are quality stuff

This is all good to know! I was happy to be getting Alcans because I have heard a lot of good things about them, but if the Deavers are comparable, than I'm still happy. It sounds like the Deavers are pretty much the same thing, just with a different brand name attached.
