35's on 3" fender clearance q's

Im thinking about mounting a 35 on my truck. I know that I need the cab mount chop, and that I would also have to clearance the fenders. The question I have, is if I remove the stock fender do I still have to clearance whats left? Im confused

Check Eric's (RelentlessTaco's) build page, he has more pictures of cutting his actual fender.
