2009 Going North

OK I read a lot of the threads talking about lifts. I want the 3" Toytec coilovers for the front. What else will I need? Should I replace the UCA's and is the AAL my best option for the back? I am going for looks not serious off roading. I would like to run 285's with a set of 17" Moto Metal rims. My Taco is a 4x4 DC.

 

If you can afford it, definitly get the UCAs.

AAL is the best option for the rear if your not gonna be really off roading. The only thing you need now is a set of rear shocks. Get some 5100s for the rear and you should be set.

To run 285s on your truck, you will need to do some trimming on the inner fender and maybe remove the front mud flaps.

Post pics when its all said and done.

 

Thanks for the information. Should I look into running smaller tires? The 285's seemed the way to go. Toytec told me I might be able to use my existing shocks but need to add a 1" spacer? Sounds like the 5100's on the rear might be the best way to go.

 

285's will work fine with some trimming like what 05TacoTRD said. Alot of people run 285's with their 3" lifts. They look good.

 

^^^ what they said. some will say you need to replace your shocks. its a good idea but not necessary.

I tried to PM but no answer. Not sure what kind of price break they are giving. I might call Toytec and ask for "Doug" he seems to be the man with the prices.

 

Pat What back spacing do you have on your Moto Metal wheels?

 

4.5". I think they look great.
