So my non TSB leaf springs are shot and I want to replace the whole leaf pack. I have a 07 double cab TRD pre-runner. I am always hauling work tools and a truck box (250/300 lb). I also pull a trailer with two utv occasionally so I want a stiffer spring. So my question is if I install a Darker leaf spring with 2.75 in of lift do I have to lift the front as well. I am happy with the stock height I just want to beef up the rear end. I guess I will need longer shocks, a drive line bearing drop kit and longer U bolts as well.

If you don't want to lift the front some guys have removed one of the leafs from the Dakars , this lowers them by 3/4"

Which one do I remove? If I did that I guess I could keep the same shocks?

I think you would still want extended shocks , because you would still be going up 2"

The third leaf from the top is the one that gets removed .

Use the search for " dakars remove leaf " I'm on my phone.

here is a shot of my dakars after install, gives you a better idea, i had on revtec spacers in the front. i still have foward rake and that lift was 3" i think. i would lift front if you install these. I am running toytec coilovers now and will adjust them back up to 3" when i put my new tires on in the spring. i did not remove any spring, i did not add the shim either or the bearing drop kit and no vibration issues either. the extended lenght billy's came with the kit from toytec so take that into consideration also

I don't really care about it sitting up that high. I just don't want it to look funny or handle bad.

i could not be happier with these, i can load a cord of wood almost and these packs can take it, i will try and find a picture of my truck neatly stacked with wood and post. imo it rides better with a heavy, but what truck doesn't. with these it takes the weight well and feels so firm compared to stock... so handling is great loaded or unloaded....

So in the pic you had 3in spacers in the front and 2.75 leaf pack in the rear.

That's what I want, it to feel like a truck and not the wife's car.

If you are going to lift the front as well you should look into the ultimate lift kit from toytec with the dakars , or the OME lift kit with the dakars

i can only speak for myself, but the driveline angle with good, after i installed because i could not get the shim to fit i went ahead and finished anyway with the thought of finishing it up at a later date, i test drove on dirt road, highway, mudtrails, etc...and no vibration issues either. with that said i have seen posts where people have installed this and had issues and susposedly put shim in and in some cases the bearing drop kit to fix problem. i have had these on for about 6 months with no issues to date.
