Ready Lift

Tomorrow I'm getting my 2.25 inch front lift spacer installed followed by an alignment on Friday. I also ordered Spidertrax 1.25 inch wheel spacers for it because I want to keep the factory wheels. I do plan to put a slightly larger tire on it at some point but I'm sticking with the stock tires for now. I havent seen much Ready Lift stuff on TW but the shop that's installing them has done a bunch with no problems.

My truck has Bilstien shocks on it. Does Toyota put them on all Tacomas now? I know they used to be part of the TRD package but I don't have that. My truck is an SR5.

 

I have Readlift Leveling spacers, diff drop kit, and their 1" blocks on my 04 D-cab. My Tacoma came with the Tokiko struts/shocks, but have since replaced them with Monroe Sens-a-Tracs. They actually were the Reflex truck shocks, but repainted and relabled, as they still had Reflex stamped in the metal.

I don't do too much off-roading, just occasionally when I am at my parents' farm. I haven't had any issues and was happy with the stance it gave my Taco.

 

I'm getting the 2.25 inch spacer. There is a 2.75 also but I went small hoping to get a good alignment. What size is your spacer?

I don't offroad much either. Just looking to get a little lift to eventually run a little bigger tire.

 

I believe the actual height of the spacer was 1". Rule of thumb is the amount of lift is double the height of the spacer. I got 2" of lift with my spacer. At that point, it had the front end higher than the back. Then I added the 1" blocks to the rear. I know that blocks are not the ideal way to lift the the back end, but for just 1", it shouldn't be a problem. This had my truck sitting level.

 

My 2.25 inch kit came with a diff drop kit too. It does sit a little nose high but I think I like that look. I'll post up some pics when i get a chance.

 

Here's a few shots of my truck with the 2.25 inch Ready Lift levelling kit installed on the factory Bilstein strut. Rear is stock. Doesn't drive any different (ie not pulling to one side or vibrating) but I'm getting an alignment tomorrow just to be sure.

I haven't installed the Spidertrax yet and I'm still not sure what tire to go with. I don't have any cash left anyway.

 

i have the same lift in the front. looks good. if u get new wheels and tires- make sure u get the right size. when i got mine, the tires were a little too big and would hit when i turn.

 

your truck looks good....what made you decide on the spacers and not 5100's or 884's?

 

Thanks. I went with the spacer because the truck is my daily driver and I don't off road. I like the ride of the factory Bilstiens and buying new shocks for a 2 week old truck didn't make sense to me. It's also not very expensive. I like the new coil idea but if I was to buy new coils I would probably just buy the OME 3 inch kit. Probably overkill for an onroad truck though.

 

Thanks. Any issues with yours? I'm sticking with factory wheels. I'll probably go with 265 75 16's. My truck is a four banger and only came with 245 75 16's. Much bigger and my gas mileage will suffer.

First post on here. I'll be getting the 3" Readylift SSL/2.5 Skyjacker AAL installed this week at a local shop on my 09 TRD Sport DBCab. Only reason I'm going with this and not the other's mentioned is because 1.) It's my daily driver/minimal off-road use and 2.) guy at the local shop mentioned getting anything other then a leveling kit would require me to purchase 18" wheels because of rubbing issues? I currently have 265/70/R17's BF All-terrains on the truck. Is this true? I would much rather prefer the OME, Billstein 3" lifts. Thanks!
