My frame is being replaced, should I replace the shocks?

I posted this under the 1st gen forum and had no respone. My frame failed the inspection last week and I am looking into replacing the shocks while they have everything apart and I dont have to pay labor. They said the frame would arive in 30-60 days. I have no mechanic skills nor do I have any mechanic or suspension knowledge so I need some advice. I am looking into getting the 5100's and 5125's for my truck but I have a lot of questions. The truck is a 03 dbl cab TRD with 109k on it. I put new moto metal wheels and Wild Country 265/75/R16 MT tires on in November.

1. I already have 2" leveling kit on my truck (because my tires were rubbing) but I dont think it would hurt for it to come up another inch so my tires have a little extra room. Do I leave the spacer on or just set the shocks to the highest level?

2. Is it necessary to replace the coilover too? If so what should I get?

3. Is DSW the cheapest place to purchase these items?

4. Should I consider doing a full 3" lift? How much would that cost?

Is there anything else I shoud consider replacing while my truck is totally apart?

I know a lot of people on here get pissed when people ask dumb questions and I may be one of those people but I am clueless about all this.

 

Thank you for the response. I saw on DSM website that you can choose 5100 or 5125 for the rear. Which one is best to use?

I will probably go ahead and replace the fuel filter and I am not sure that the timing belt has been replaced so I am going to check on that. What about the water pump?

 

I really appreciate the response. I am going to order the 5100's tomorrow. Last question and I will leave you alone. To keep my tires from rubbing do I have to set it on the highest setting or will the middle setting work? My tires are 265/75/R16. I want to keep the truck as level as possible.

 

My tires rubbed when I turned before I added the 2" spacer. So what should I set them at to level the truck?
