I have an 08 DC trd 4x4 and would like to lift if for an affordable price, this kit i found on autopartswarehouse.com I just dont really know that much about lifting trucks this being my first one and all. there is also the option to just get the front set of this kit, then what do you do on the back, is that where the AAL comes in and i have read to make sure that you get a long leaf for a better ride. That revtek kit says its for 3 inches in the front and 1.25 in the back. wouldnt you want 3 inches all around, and what size tires could you get and not have to worry about rubbing or having to cut anything. what size are the stock tires? for whoever has answers for me i greatly appreciate the help

alright thanks alot for the pictures here, i think that i am starting to make a final decesion on the lift, its looking like the toytec 3' inch and then as for the rims i am thinking about helo 835, and still trying to avoid trimming i think that a 32 should be good right

There really isn't that much trimming and you can't even tell it is trimmed unless you look. Here are the pics of my truck and what I trimmed.

This is the front you can see where I put the zip tie to keep the loose plastic back away from the tires.
Here is the square knob in the front
    [IMG]
This is the little bit of plastic I cut to keep it out of the way when turning lock to lock while needing wheel travel.

Keep in mind that tires aren't always as tall as the advertise, for instance mine are BFG AT they are supposed to be 33s but really measure 32.4

Make sure to take some pics, were fanatics here. Nice choice in rims.

thanks found the rims from another post talking about them and they looked sweet and at 121 a wheel for 17s cant go wrong. how big of a factor does the width of the tire have on trimming to. I have seen a few trucks out here that have nice lifts and then rolling around on these little training wheel looking tires

Yeah the oem. I'd go with the 885's. I didn't notice my ride getting any stiffer so I would imagine the 885's wouldn't me much different.

You should only go for the 885 for the doublecab if you are ready to upgrade your front shocks. The OEM's aren't gonna cut it. Go for the spacers or it's gonna be rough.

here is what it says right off the kit, are you saying that i shouldnt get these shocks when i get the lift kit.

*** PLEASE NOTE: 885 Coils are only recommended with vehicles that already have 110# additional weight due to installation of aftermarket bumpers/winches or to achieve a full 3" of lift on double cab models. For best ride quality we recommend OME N140S front shocks be installed (sold separately) with these coils.

I have the TRD Belstein shocks with mine and I must admit I never saw those notes nore did they mention it to me when I was speaking with them on the phone asking what to get. Maybe that is something new, I know there were some guys on here that were planning on informint Toytec that the 884's started to sag.
