my Aal is shifting

    i just installed my AAL's a few days ago from toytec, that i got in my ULK.

    and i noticed while today out playing in the mud. the AAL started to move out slightly on both sides. not sure if its something to be to worried about. a good sized hammer solved the problem for a little while. until i went back out to the mud, they would shift again. driving around town it stays put however.

    i know this cant be normal.. as i've never seen any other posts about it. maybe i need to torque my u bolts further?? or something else??

    just tired of slamming my leafs with a big ol hammer to put em back into place... which cant be good for em :lol:

    Have you checked the torque on the U bolts?

    i got it aligned a couple days ago before the rains hit. asked them to re-torque everything for me, i hope they did... but tomorrow i will re-check their work.. :p

    Check tq on the center pin and u-bolts. It really shouldn't be loose enough that you can shift it with a hammer without loosening anything.

    Center pin only holds the springs together from separating. It doesnt hold them from shifting sideways at the ends.

    Agreed, but if it's loose things will shift more easily. Ditto if it's broken.

    Only if the U bolts are loose. The center bolt really only holds the springs together until the U bolts are torqued. The U bolts asume the load after that.

    torqued them up today to 75 lbs... so should all be well now :) thanks for the help

    the idiot mechanics didn't torque them at all..

    i installed it on my own, i told the mechanic doing the alignment however, to retorque the U-bolts for me. they didn't i guess.
