need info about lifts and tires

I have a 2008 tacoma 4x4 access cab. I want to put a lift and mud tires on it for hunting season. I know nothing about it. I want something that still provides a good ride and looks good! If anybody has info for me, please help me out!!

 

The OME setup would probably work great for you. Alot of TW guys run it and love it. Get that and some light racing UCA's and you should be good. You can fit 285's with the OME and might have to do a little bit of trimming but not much. Just my 2 cents. As for tires...everyone is different but I love the cooper stt's. Thats what Im running and love them!

 

how much lift you are looking for might depend on the size tire you want to run, or vice versa.. if you have an idea of 1", 2", 3", etc then you can pick an appropriate tire. if you want a large tire, then you will probably need atleast 3" of lift.

 

well we hunt some pretty rough areas so I would guess at least a 3in lift. So what size tires would I be able to fit that wont rub? And any suggestions on what brand of lift to get that rides good and wont break the bank?

3inch lift with tires that won't rub at all without having to trim? 265/75/16.

If you get new wheels with a back spacing of 4.5 or less you can do a 285/75/16.

But if u want to go the 285 route you'll most likely have to trim something somewhere.

Goof lifts are Bilstein 5100's (alone or paired with eibach coils) OME lifts. If u want to spend more search around for new coilover setups out there.

Go to the toyteclifts.com site and look. Most everything there is good as long as you stay away from spacer lifts.

Also 3 inches is as high as you'll be able to go unless you get a drop bracket lift.

Glad I could help. Honestly the first option I would explore are the Bilstein 5100's, they are super common and everyone likes them. I'm running them myself at 1.75" right now and I love them; you can always run them at 2.5".
