Metallic "knock" from up front.

Interesting I get the same metallic clunk or thud when backing out of my sloped driveway and into the street. Only in reverse and turned down the slope of my driveway. I just installed my UCAs and I'm sure it isn't that.

 

I also hear a knock usually first thing in the morning or after it sits for a while. I have the total chaos UCAs. I checked the torque on everything up front and greased everything... still there. Interested to know what it could be ?

 

I'm beginning to think it's the bushings on my steering rack. They were making some funny noises at Moab after the truck swallowed copious amounts of dirt and I noticed a bit of play while watching Josh turn my steering wheel. Going to mount my go pro and see if I can come up with a diagnosis.

I've checked everything for play and everything seems tight except those bushings. Did it today several times at about 1/4 turn and then back to center and then 1/4 the other way while rolling. Seems to do randomly. No sway bar.
