Been reading and searching and PM'ing and all that... can't get a solid answer anywhere so i'm starting this thread.
2003 Tacoma Double Cab v6
-Getting brand new Wheelers 5-leaf pack in the TW Group Buy.
-Will have a custom front steal bumper and Demello sliders in about a month.
-Custom tube rear bumper in 6 months or so.
-No winch planned.
-265/75/16 Duratracs on stock rims
-Replacing the stock shocks/struts with Billy 5100's all around.
-Not much towing
-Occasional motorcycle in the bed
-Yard/house work and camping supplies once or twice a month
Dan at Wheelers recommended running the 880 OME Spring with the Billy's at 'middle' setting.
I see here that loads of you DC'ers run the 881 OME Spring with the Billy at "0/Stock" setting and love it.
So damn torn about what to do. Take the advice of the guy we all know, KNOWS his shocks... or take the info provided by all of you running the 881/5100/0 setup in the real world...
I guess my thinking is if i go 881/5100/0 and i decide in a few years to throw the billies, i can go OME Nitros' and i just need the strut thanks to the added lift in the 881.
But if i go 880/5100/mid then i'd need to get new 881 springs down the road if i ever swap out because the 880's would be too weak/no lift for the DC...
Any thoughts are appreciated. My minds swimming right now with all the info i've read.
