    It is absolutely amazing the difference is between them....

    1st gen. is top ,2nd gen bottom...

    A member here with 2nd gen flipped his & got an inch or more of lift, I can't even begin to think what it would be like with flipping a 1st gen. ( DON'T DO IT !!)

    Flipping the OL on a first gen useually results in broken springs.

    Out here in SoCal my buddy Matt (RecklessTaco) is in dire need of some new springs (his are almost completely shot, can't/won't bother even trying to rebuild them, & he's wanting to go to a Mojave desert run planned shortly so I'm going to make it happen for him & we'll see if my whole concept is a win or a fail (seeing as I've been a broken record talking about rebuilding stock springs for lift & performance) & I'll post up a thread with pics & vid & step by step thru the process....:cool:

    NO,NO,NO, !!! just rebuilding leafs,the overload stays where it should, this is what i told the guy that DID flip his...


    Bro', you had to get more than an inch even with saggy ass springs, the overload alone is right at an inch thick, add to that the degree of arc & I'd say you were closer to 3" <<<<< That brings up an issue maybe, where they make contact under the rest of your leafs, you've probably eliminated a fair amount of any kind of progressive spring rate, those stock leafs being so soft anyway they can't compress normally over the now upturned overload, meaning, if you hit anything that bottoms you out (actually it wouldn't even need to bottom out) those springs & all that energy are going to start to compress & then there going to hit that overload (which isn't going to budge probably) & theres a good chance of either bending or breaking (likely) some leafs.....


    I didn't realize the diff in the arc between the 1st & 2nd gens then, but regardless advise against doing it..

    I can't wait to check out your tutorial on rebuilding stock springs. Question. My springs are totally shot. They look like shit. Is it still possible to rebuild them with good results? Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge and experience.

    Hmm, I was just wondering about this. My OL leaf is arched downwards and I wasn't sure if it's supposed to be like this or if my suspension is really shitting the bucket on me. I already have some backwards rake going on and that's with an ARB up front.

    Sadly the rest of the leafs have a down turn to them as well.
