So I know that the factory upper control arm's ball joint allows for enough angular travel to allow for 4" of up travel and 4" of down travel. I know that a Uniball in its place allows for more travel. My question is this... is that additional travel all down travel by placing the Uniball at a slight angle or is it split equally allowing more up and down travel by keeping the joint in the same plane or is it shifted to allow a small amount of additional up travel and more down travel?

Is this universal or do some manufacturers adjust the joint angle to allow different amounts of up vs down travel?
