How soon after getting the lift installed should you be getting the alignment check done?

Can you go to Meineke or Midas to get it done. or does it need to be somwhere that does just offroad/lifted trucks.

As soon as you can once you put the wheel and tire combination that you're gonna keep on there. It was recommended to me by a friend who has an F150 lifted. He said he regrets not doing it sooner because it the misalignment wore out his tires on the sides.

Definately get an allignment as soon as you can after doing the lift.
If something is *off* - then you could cause premature wear on your tires.

It's all in my head at the moment...
When I did mine on an '03 Ram, It was suggested to me by the shop's front end guy, (did the lift myself at my brother's very well equipped shop) to get 3 alignments done.

He did the first stock, 2nd, lifted with stock wheels and tires and then 3rd, lifted with oversized tires and the wheels.

What difference between all 3. Those tires lasted quite sometime with scheduled rotations and pressure checks.

    Just a thought.

I have always waited a few weeks after putting on a suspension lift so the springs will settle. If you get it aligned right after you install then when the spring settle and you lose 1/2 inch of lift you are out of alignment.

hey 09...take it to one of the local firestones and get the lifetime alignment done for like $150-160 and u dont have to worry about paying again if u change the suspension or it goes out while wheeling

I was asking around on the FJ Cruiser Forums about where I could get a lift installed, Done right, and for a good price.. and got a PM from one of the members offering to install the kit for us.

That's cool...I guess I asked my question wrong tho- I more meant what kind of lift is it?? Cause I can see what Firestone might not want to do the work unless you've put in place all the parts to make all the adjustments (Like UCAs and spacers if needed).

Go check that place out...and good luck!!

Its the Toytec Lift for 4x4 FJs OME Springs and Shocks. They said they wont do it because when they put the vehicle into the computer the ride hight is different from stock so it wont register properly

Ha thats the biggest bullshit Ive heard today. Funny how a truck accessory shop my buddy works at, they used to take ALL their trucks they had installed lifts on to the Firestone down the street for alignments! Never any issues except for duallys.
