should i get the rear 5100's too?

Went to get 10K service and mentioned how the truck bottomed out pretty bad with a load in the bed. They looked and said they need to do the rear TSB. Been wanting to lift the truck and this is a good opportunity because they'll do the alignment for free because of the TSB and the 5100 install for free because i'm buying a minivan from them for my wife. Do I need the rear 5100s as well as the front? I'm gonna get bigger tires before next winter, but want the truck to sit level so I'm thinking of having the front 5100's set at 2.5.

 

2.5" is too much with just the TSB leafs. You would want an AAL as well.

With the rear TSB, set the front 5100's to 1.75 to be level. Installing 5100's in the rear won't give you any lift but will give you a nicer ride.

so now i'm thinking to get the toytec aal to go with the tsb and 4 billy 5100's.

will this cause any functional issues? (driveline or stability?)

should i set the front billy;s at 2.5inches with that set up?

also, will i be able to fit 285's at some point with this?

 

There is a ton of info on this site if you search around a bit. If you get the toytec aal on top of the TSB leaf I think your best bet would be to install eibach or ome 885 coils in the front with your 5100's. This will give you 2.5" - 3" in the front and should keep it level with the back, and also give you a nicer ride. A lot of people run 285's with this set up. If you go this route you should look for new upper control arms as well to keep your alignment in spec. Keep in mind everytime you mess around with lift kits you could run into vibration problems and more wear and tear on parts, not to mention worse mpg's with bigger tires etc...

(setting 5100's to 2.5 will work as well, the ride will be quite stiff though)
