Does lift void warranty?

As I was getting my 20k service done yesterday I mentioned to the "service advisor" that I planned on putting a 3" lift on. He at that point stated that it would void my warranty. Now I haven't contacted toyota but figured I'd ask here first. Is this for real??

Nope it won't. If your engine fails or the electrical system goes haywire-That can't be attributed to the life...so it remains covered. If the CV joints need continual replacement- That might be blamed on the lift.

Baswically anything the lift alterted can fall out of warrenty, but like he^^ said anything not having to do with suspension is still compatable.

 

Careful, they will try to blame all drivetrain issues on the lift. Personally, I'd wait for the 36k warranty to expire.

IF you cannot afford the consequences that may be caused by a lift, then i recommend not doing it. Especially if its your only rig.

 

May want to ask the dealership to install it, that may help. If they do the work it should be covered. A friend has a 07 sport, got it lifted at the local dealership and everything is still covered.
