Tacoma 2" lift question

I have a stock 2005 double cab that im looking to lift. if i go with the bilsteins can i adjust it to a 2" lift in the front? and if i do that will i still need UCAs and the diff drop?

bilstein levels are only .85, 1.75 or 2.5. There is no 2" option.

No UCA's are not needed until 2.5+

 

so if i set them at 1.75 would i need to drop the differential down also? what about at 2.5?

 

No you would not need the diff drop. Actually there are quiet a few threads on here that recommend NOT using the diff drop even if you are lifted 3" due to bad design or bad characteristics with our trucks.

 

Oh and if you do want 2", you can set the shocks to 1.75" and get the toytec top plates which will give you a little over 2", if your wanting more of a 2" lift.

 

call me stupid, What bilsteins do I need to buy to get the different lift options, I have a 2011 tacoma with bilsteins on it now stock from factory, not the same thing I'm guessing?????????

Its the best and most effective way. A much better way to go than spacers, not only a better ride but also safer.

1.75 should make your truck almost perfectly level and you might not even need an alignment, but I would take it in to get it checked anyway. That is what I have on my truck

 

what would be the disadvantages of keeping the stock springs in the front instead of replacing them with the ones that come with the Bilstein kit?

 

Those springs are a little more stiff and will give you about 1.6 inches lift on the 0 setting and about 2.5 inches at the .85 setting. The advantage being that you don't have to preload the springs as much. Both good options, but the eibach springs that you linked are just more money to spend and you will go under or over your desired 2".

 

But they ride sooo nice!! The Bilstein 5100's at 0 with the Eibach coils pushes the 2" mark (just under) and when coupled with a 1.5" AAL in the rear, rides very nice!

 

What about Eibachs with Billies at 0 and a 1/4" top spacer on both sides ?

 

What about some OME 884s? They should give the 2" without preloading anything and without top plate spacers except for a small 1/4 inch one to go on the drivers side for the taco lean.

would i gain more suspension travel with the Eibach springs or just a more comfortable ride? And what causes the driver's side lean?
