Has anyone done this? I'm looking at buying a guy's 5100/Eibach setup which is currently set at "0" on the 5100's and was wondering if anyone has run this setup with a 1/4" top plate spacer. I know I would get about 2.1" of lift. Or if i add a 3/8" spacer I'd get around 2.25 or so.

My reason being is that I'll probably have the same money in adjusting them as I would buying the spacers, and I'm guessing that the ride would be better if the 5100s weren't preloaded. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Thanks for any info you may have, Nick

There would be no reason that wouldn't work, but just be aware that top plate spacers allow the suspension to droop further than it was intended to. I think you are better of adjusting the billies IMO.

I hadn't even thought of that, although with as small a spacer as it would be I wouldn't be too worried about that. After an evening of thinking about it I think I'm gonna have them adjusted and someday down the road (hopefully soon) get a 3leaf AAL and the rear 5100s.

Thanks to you guys for the help!

5100's at 0, 1/4" spacer on the driver's side and 3 leaf progressive AAL in the rear installed in a TSB leaf pack (kept the overload leaf in also which give an extra 1/2" in the back). I love the ride! I seem to be close to a factory rake running that set-up with a fiberglass shell and a wood platform built in the bed w/ tools (combined I'd guess 250 - 300 lbs that's always in the bed).

    5100's at 0, Eibach's, 1/4" spacer, TSB, and 265/70/17's. Rides great.

setting the billys at the lowest setting would preload the coils a very minimal amount to the point you probably wouldnt notice it. save your $50 bucks, or whatever the spacer costs, and put it towards an AAL or extended rear brake lines or porn.

afe pro dry, weather tech floor liners,5100's on all four corners@ 0, eibach 620 coils. toytec 3/4" spacer driver/s & passenger/s, rear spring tsb w/toytec 1" blocks, 4runner sport wheels, in channel vent visors, 1.25 spidertrax wheel spacers on the front, Wet Okole's, smity tow hook.
Not sure if you decided on what to do? I originally had my 5100's @1.75. Then bought some Eibachs but I didn't really want to pre-load my Eibachs so I set my 5100's @0 and added the toytec 3/4"spacer on the driver/s (payed 15.00 from a TW member)and 1/2" spacer on the passenger/s no taco lean and the ride it awesome!
