AAL Question

So noob question, I couldnt find anything in the site search. I'm installing the 2" toytec AAL and looking at the leaf one side is noticeably shorter than the other, whats the correct orientation to install these?

 

Toytec directions say that if your AAL has a longer side, it should be installed toward the rear of the vehicle. I just did mine two days ago and that's how I did it. Double checked the directions just now to make sure. They are on also on toytecs website for reference.

Edit: The directions on the website don't mention the orientation of the longer/shorter side, but I just looked on my paper copy from toytec and in the step about putting them in the correct order, it mentions that the longer side should go toward the rear.

Doh..didnt say anything on my directions about orientation, we installed them with the long side to the front, its seemed to work ok

 

I'd guess the long side toward the rear is to help prevent axle wrap. Just a guess, I'm not really sure why they're set up that way. Nice truck!

 

Just to clear this one up, the long end should always go toward the rear.

 

So should i disassemble the leafs and change the orientation or is it ok to ride with the leafs installed with the long end towards the front?

 

Is there a noticeable difference when they're installed that way vs long side toward the rear?
