stupid question 5lug vs. 6lug

Alright so as of now i cant find from toyota that there is a difference in any of the 5lug and 6lug suspension parts other than the hardware themselves, ie springs and shocks. Is this correct?? because if so, my 5lug base can have 5100 and ome 884s even though they arent "FOR MY TRUCK".... or am i just horible wrong and retarded... THANKS!!!!

 

5 lug and 6 lug parts are not interchangeable.

 

ReadyLift makes a 3" lift kit specifically for the 5-lugs (I just ordered it after a fair amount of research). It's the 69-5510. It runs about $230 and takes about 2-3 hours to install. Pretty simple install if you have the tools and know-how. There's also a video of the install if you're interested. This lift will allow up to a 31" tire. Good luck!

PS This seems to be the only kit for the 5-lugs at this point.

 

well the problem is that toyota had told me that if i was looking for a suspension upgrade, since my advisor is a real cool guy, he could throw on some trd springs, struts, and shocks "since there really isnt much of a difference" for only $3k...... i kindly declined his offer, but i really dont understand how there is that much of a differance...
