6" lift question

So right now I have a POS 3" spacer lift on my truck just to make it look a little more aggressive. But i was thinking I wanna get a 6" lift and have some money saved up, but just curious how important is changing the gear ratios and how much would that cost? and on average how much mpg is lost going to a 6"?

You are looking at about $500+ to change the gears. If you are concerned about MPG don't lift.

correct me if I'm wrong, but would just lifting not change mpg? I always thought it was tire size that affected it

I have seen a few people run a 6" lift and 35s on stock gears. It makes for a slow truck and lots of revs for normal driving.
