Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" alignment

This is my first post, but I've been searching and using information from this site for a year. I just installed Bilstein 5100's on all 4 corners of my 2010 DC TRD Sport Prerunner. I have the fronts set at 1.75" and I have 1.5" blocks in the rear (I like the rake). I'm running 255/75/17 BFG Mud Terrain's with 1.25" Spidertrax spacers. I took it to Toyota this afternoon to get an alignment on it assuming I'd have no issues as pretty much everyone on here set at 1.75" has had no issues with alignment. I stayed at the 1.75" setting to avoid buying new UCA's. The service tech at the Toyota dealership didn't seem to be able to get a very good alignment on the truck. The Toe is set to .03 on DF wheel and .02 on PF wheel, which is pretty good. The Camber is set to 0.5 on the DF and 1.0 on the PF. The caster is out and is too low, it's at -.6 on the DF and .4 on the PF.

Did this guy just not know what he was doing? Everything I've read on here has seemed to suggest that this set up would have no problems with alignment and ride quality. I'm confident that everything was installed correctly, I've been through automotive school and work for a race team so I am pretty mechanically inclined.

Anyone have any ideas? Should I take it somewhere else? How will this affect my tire wear?

Good morning, I just bought some 5100's set a 1.75 for exactly the same reason, I don't want to buy UCA's, I asked the TW member the same question and he said he didn't have any issues with his set up, he said everything was "within spec". I didn't ask but I doubt he had it aligned at a dealership. I'm putting mine on weekend after next and will be getting it aligned as well. I will be happy to keep you posted.

ya, 0.5 to 1.0 on camber is way too high. both should be under 0.30.
and the caster should be as close to 2.0 as you can get (the more the better).
toe is fine.

take it somewhere else. or be a pain in the ass and make them do it to the specs you want

edit:
yes, the camber setting that you have can wear the tires, but 2-3 days of driving with that setting shouldnt be too terrible.

Just to update everyone, Friday when I got off work I took it to a local independant tire shop around where I live (Case Tire) and had the truck realigned, and they were able to get the specs no problem. They got it within .02 on toe and camber and got it to a little over 2.0 on caster. Rides great and tracks straight down the road.

My plan was to get the print out from them and then go back to Toyota and show it to them and ask for my $54.99 back that I paid this past tuesday and they only would adjust the toe on it. But it just so happens the alignment shop that I went to had run out of ink for their printer on the machine, but they did let me see the numbers before they took my truck off the machine. It drives and rides so much better than before, it was pulling left pretty hard. The alignment tech even test drove it after he aligned it to assure everything was good to go. I will go to them from now on, They only charged me $54.30 total and it only took about 45 mins.

Previous to having the 5100's, I had a 3" spacer lift (mistake), and the Camber was never right on that set up and started to wear the outside of my tires, that's why I switched to the 5100's. Glad I did, to me it rides better than it did from the factory (but I could just be used to riding around with the spacer lift, which sucked). Anyways, I'm gonna post some pics in another post in a few minutes, let me know what you guys think.

I know most of you like the leveled look, but I like it with the rake in it, just not as much rake as they come with from the factory. I'm running Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" and 1.25" blocks.

Hi Swafford--Do you have the rear TSB? My reason for asking is that I've got it and I'm installing 5100's set at 1.75 and I'm worried about my front being higher than my rear. So I'm thinking about going with a 1 inch block to give a little extra lift in the back--I'm afraid a 1.5 AAL would be too much.

Also, how's the ride with the block? Have you had any issues using it--I've read a lot of negative info on here regarding the use of blocks for lift.

The ride is awesome, to me it seems as smooth or smoother than when I bought it brand new, but I had a spacer lift on it for about 6 months before I swapped to the 5100's, so it could just be that spacers were that terrible versus the 5100's being that awesome.

But trust me, it will have a nice ride with the 5100's, you won't regret it.

To answer your question, I do NOT have the TSB rear leaf pack. I've thought about getting it and doing away with my rear block but just haven't gotten around to it. From all of the research I've done, everyone seems to say the 1.75" setting on the 5100's rides level with the rear TSB.

I haven't seen any downfall to having the blocks, they've been on the truck for probably 7000-8000 miles. It's a quick and easy fix, I know most say it's not the BEST way but it works. I may get around to getting the rear TSB some time.

I would just do the 5100's and leave the TSB in the rear for the time being if you want to ride close to level. Drive it like that for a few weeks and see where you're at as far as rake after everything settles in. You could always buy a 1" block and throw them on at a later date. Hope this helps.

looks good, is the front set to 1.75 or 2.5? because in your op it says 1.75 but on your profile it says 2.5?????

I just got my 2011 DCLB back from the dealer, they installed the 5100's set at 1.75" and did the TSB. The truck definitely looks better! It does however seem to have a slight rake to the rear?!? It also seemed to pull a little, I am thinking about asking for a print out of the alignment specs. Has anyone else heard of this set up creating a rear rake?

Look at your rear springs, check the part number and make sure it is the TSB leaf spring part number. I have heard of dealerships ordering original factory springs instead of TSB springs. Your truck should be pretty level, not nose high.

Always get a printout of your alignment. I had the same problem as the OP, the dealership only adjusted the toe. Pretty lazy and disappointing.
