what do you mean by, "it slides" ? Are you sure it's in all the way? If it slides in and out it may not be engaged all the way in.

Just ordered a new front inner CV boot. Gonna cut off the narrow end of the old boot that has the ridges and leave it on the axle. Hopefully this will keep the boot from sliding back down and help seal it.

Will be changing that replacing the wheel bearing and installing UCA's soon.

    My boot is pretty rough.

Mine started getting grooved like that. I took the cv boot clamp off and used a hose clamp. No glue or anything and it's been 6 months of me driving 85 on the highway every day and trails on the weekend. So far its good

Cool, good to know. I'm gonna use the method in this thread, and if it moves or slides on me, I'll order a couple new boots and try another way.

I have an aftermarket cv axle on the driver's side. can I do this boot slide method on the outer cv boot just as I would do a slide on the inner? driver's side I have wear on the outer boot, not the inner. passenger side is just the opposite. anybody have experience with sliding the outer cv boots?
