Whats up guys, i just got my 17x9 XD revolvers put on, they have around a 4.5bs and a -12mm offset. I have them wrapped in 285 duratracs. My suspension is the OME lift kit with 885 coils up front w/o the top plate spacer kit. I should still be at around 3" of lift. I also have TC UCAs. Everything i read and everyone i talked to said that i would rub the front inner fender a little, which is what i expected anyways, but not the cab mount.

    Looks good..
    [IMG][IMG]

Here it is rubbing on the inner front fender, no big deal:

Now here it is rubbing on the cab mount im guessing? Its the back of the front tires hitting the back inner part of the wheel well.

It looks like it will only rub on sharp turns but its really hitting the mount, not just scraping by. What do you guys suggest? Any ideas on the problem, bad size wheel? Or is this not that big of a deal and i should just get the cab mount chop done? Would purchasing the top plate spacer kit front toytec solve anything?

You're level parked, as soon as you move and shift the weight of the truck, or go over a bump it won't just touch the mount, it'll skull fuck it.

    Chop chop.

Yea thats what i figured. Is this a severe case of rubbing or is it the typical amount that a lot of guys run into? For some reason i feel like this is rubbing a lot more than it should.

I appreciate the quick replies too fellas, this is my DD and if its not drivable im f'ed.

I think it depends on what tire you have weather or not it will hit the cab mount or not. You will have to do a cab mount chop fer shure..I have 295's nitto terra's on a 3" pro comp lift and did not have to do a cab mount chop. I think it depends on the tire. Can't be for sure and I don't know enough about it but, looking at your pics...you got some work to do..

It's driveable. I haven't chopped mine yet and I have the same size tire with big lugs too. You won't kill your tires or the mount driving with it, but just be aware that at some time it'll need hacking. Especially if you plan to wheel it.

    Urgent why?

Anyway, chopping is the best solution, but FWIW I haven't gotten around to chopping mine yet and I've been wheeling the piss out of my truck on 3"/33s for a good year now. All it does is take a little paint off the mount.

I felt like it was urgent because it looks like its rubbing a lot, even going over a bigger than usual bump might mess things up. Any one know if this is a severe case or rubbing enough to where i should choose a different setup?

Mine was bad enough that a good bump would make the tire act as a brake... made you wonder if the tire was ok for the abuse.

I had an alignment - not sure what was done, but I don't have any rub at all now.

OP, if you are in a hurry you can technically bust out the angle grinder and go at it right away. re-plating the mount isn't a concern, just be sensible with your cuts. There's a guy who didn't re-plate his FJC and went straight to wheel stuff most here wouldn't try. He's had no weakness issues.

Haha alright alright, its just my first time dealing with aftermarket wheels and tires and i wasnt expecting to run into a somewhat serious issue off the bat.

Yea, i wasnt able to get an alignment due to timing today. Is there a possibility one might solve this problem?

Yeah. Don't do anything else till you get your alignment done.

Search and find chris4x4s recommended alignment specs.

The more caster you have dialed in with those non-adjustable TC UCAs, the further back in the wheelwell your wheel will be.

If you consider this a serious issue you better stop moddin' right now.

I have the almost same setup that you have, 17 x 9 wheels with 265/70/r17 tires to put on, it rubber my bumper, lucky i purchasing it at town fair tires, and I can replace any tires in 30days, so i go back to replace it with 265/65/r17. I feel much better, since i do not do any lift now.
I will suggest down size the tires back ro 265/65/r17

I have a question about this topic since i may be in the same boat.

bjmoose....you said somethign about the uca being able to move the wheel inside the wheel well. is that the main purpose of gettign aftermarket uca's? i understand about the part of gettign it to actually be in alignment, but does the uca actually relocate the wheel fwoard a little for more clearance?

The UCA does not alter wheel location. That's controlled by the alignment cams on the LCAs which allow you to alter caster.

Most aftermarket UCAs have uniballs, which allow more articulation than the ball joints that are present on the OEM UCAs.

This means you can get your truck aligned correctly. This also means you can get additional travel out of the front suspension provided you pair the UCAs with a shock of the correct stroke length and your tires clear everything.

Most aftermarket UCAs are also stronger than the OEM units.

    Etc.

get this done for sure....0* camber, 0* toe, 2.5-3* caster. should relieve the rubbing.
