Yes that's true but in my case my truck was new so the suspension didn't need to be replaced. I never noticed a " harm in ride " however.

I have to piggy back on this one.... what does Toyota warantee department have to say to such mods? Anyone have any experience with the "level kit" and their warantee?

    Thanks

Well you can kinda figure where this will go. I took my 2 month old truck to the dealer because the passenger bucket seat was rattling and they blamed it on the leveling kit. I swear this is true. Then they charged me 73 bucks for an oil change. I told the service manager to take a good look at it because he would never see it again.

Sales dept was good though. I was happy with that experience. They did just build an expensive new store so I guess he wanted me to pay the mortgage by myself. Asshole! He's only one of four dealers within 1/2 hour drive so I have three more to piss me off before I switch back to a Frontier. :)

At my dealer I have seen Tundras with 6" Fabtech drop-bracket lifts and (RCD?) 4" spacer lifts in the showroom, so the service dept. is relatively mod-friendly.

Ya it's pretty hit and miss. I had a different dealer pull out my spacer lift and install my Eibach's and 5100's. The tech told me the parts looked solid and he even thought the Spidertrax wheel spacers were well made. Some people are into modding and some aren't I guess. Next time I'm gonna buy a new lifted truck right from the dealer.

    Thanks

Go with spidertrax 1.25" hub-centric spacers.

    oil change...
you dont think that adding the spacers will just make them rub more? I was getting a little cab mount rubbing with my 285's @ 3" of lift. I added the spidertrax and it made the problem WAY worse rubbing in totaly new spots...

to fix your problem you will probably need to lift more and cut on some stuff. but I would say lift more first.

    .
Just my .02, but most everyone on here has tried the spacers and then pulled them out. In doing my research I noticed a strong trend and decided not to go that route and I am happy with a set-up that can take some punishment if need be. Even an occasional 'camping trip' with me would involve some punishment. why not have the peace of mind?

Remember, if you lift the front, you will also need to lift the rear. I also had the Bilstien shocks collapse. I was on a flat road when it collapsed:

I replaced my Bilstiens with Old Man Emu front struts with OME886 springs, a much better / stronger suspension and lifted it 3". NOTE: OME886 are heavy duty for my front ARB bumper. If you want some for stock front, use OME884 springs.

I know this is not cheap! It was about $450 for the front.
Then in back I used OME/Dakar rear leaf springs, which cost about $400.

I'm thinking if he has the stocks rims, the spacers will change the backspacing from 5.5 to 4.25, which would alleviate some of the rubbing.

When you added spacers wasn't your backspacing already 4.5" before?
