Lifting Question

I am looking for a small lift on my 06' DBL Cab, if I go with a 3" AAL and Billy 5100's in front will I be ok? I am having Cooper AT3 265 70R 16's installed next week and would like to have a little more clearance. Thanks in advance! Joel

3" add a leaf wouod be a bit much IMO. 1.5" in the back will level the truck. 265/70/16s are going to look really small with that liftl

I assume you'd be setting the 5100's to 2.5?

even if you do, with 3 in the back your rear will be a good 2+ inches higher in the rear, so it might be a little much.

isnt 265/70r16 stock?

Ok. Stock the truck has a nose low rake.

The bisteins 5100s provide a 0-2.5" loft for the front.

A 3" AAL. which I've never heard of would lift it mor than the possible 2.5" in the front.

Mean if you put a 3" AAL in the rear at best you will lift the rear .5" higher than the front.

If you want level the truck go with billies (bilstein) in the front at 2.5" setting if your running stock coils.

Do some research bud, (on here from those with experience), and you will find the key to what you want. :-)

P.S. Everything I just stated is based of my own research... I have ordered but yet to instal my lift. (bilstein 5100 set at .85 with eibach coils, rear 2" AAL with billies)

265 is in fact stock.

I'll be running 265 duratracs with 3" lift up front with 2" aal in rear as I would like to maintain a wright rake and acknowledge my rear will settle more than the front

You can fit bigger than 265/70/16 even without a lift.

265/70/16 is stock for TRD offroads. Base models come with 245/75/16

This is true... Mine came with the 245s.

Will be putting the TRD 16" rims and 265/70/16 fails on for a couple weeks before I put the 265/75/16 duratraks in my 16s

I think this is the right approach for me. Thanks for the advice! I just dont want to have the tires undersized by the lift. P.S. this is my daily driver.

They are going to look very undersized. Most people run tires 2" bigger (285/75/16) than that with their 2.5" lifts.

Yeah I was worried about my tires being undersized for the lift. In the end it came down to not wanting to trim my brand new Tacoma body parts, fuel economy, and over all look (I didnt want it to look like I stuffed the largest tires possible under my rig. Lol)

Mine will also mostly be a pavement pounder... Maybe 5-10% off road. If I was looking for something more off road capable I'd go with (again based off my research and what guys have said on here) and OME lift as I hear it is a tougher system. It's drawback is a rougher ride...

So because your lift is 3/4" of an inch lower than the 2.5" cutoff your running 265s?

What made you decide on your lift height and tire size?
