Leaf suspension question

Hey guys newbie here! I recently had my left rear middle leaf spring break. I bought a new one, all done except for the last two bolts! I cannot get the front bolt that holds the leaf spring to the body, or the rear lower bolt that mounts to the hanger off. Neither one will spin or budge.... is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

 

Oh and it's a 1996 tacoma, ext. cab 3.4L

 

I have no idea on the spring but what happened to break the spring? Oh and welcome to TW, someone will be with you shortly hehehe

 

Dunno? Just driving down the interstate doing 75 and PING! the front half was tumbling down the road... thank goodness it didn't hit anyone.

 

Probably just siezed up. A lot of liquid wrench and a breaker bar, maybe help.

 

I put the IR thunder gun on it, still nothing? Suprised it has not broke yet.

I cut the bolts off with a grinder instead! So what bolt grade do I need to replace them with?

 

Yup - exactly what I had to do with mine.

You might need need bushings too - as the bolt is seized inside the bushing (if I had to guess). Been there done that with my previously owned 96.

Get some Grade 8 bolts.

If you're gonna buy bushings - get some 'greasable bolts', you won't regret it.
