you should be fine running a 285/75/16 with a 6 lug 3" lift. You will have to do some trimming and possibly a cab mount chop if you wheel the truck.

which company says a 31" will fit on their 3" suspension lift btw?

oh and mind you if wanting to run a full 3" lift you will more than likely have to get new upper control arms to allow for caster change. you will also need to either get wheels spacers for stock wheels or get proper backspaced aftermarket wheels to prevent rubbing and allow proper fitment.

may I ask why you are looking at rough country? 1st kit you came across/price?? there are a lot better quality lift out there.

Instand being you want to stay away from spacers. I would recommend going with 5100 bilsteins all the way around. Set the front shocks to 2.5" and get the toytec top plate spacers to get you to the 3". You will be a lot happier with that is my guess. Wheelers sells rear add a leaf kits.

Front and rear shocks ~275
top plate spacer ~ 42-52
AAl 1.5 or 2" ~ 75
Upper control arms ~420-600

3" Suspension Lift With 1.5" Body Lift Tire Size?

I would like to do the same thing here. I posted this on the 1" BL thread. I am currently running 285/70/17s on my 07 DC Long Bed 4x4 with Dick Cepek DC1s 4.5" backspacing with 3" of lift. The reason I want to do this is because I want to run a true 33/12.50 or possibly a 33.5. I have VERY minimal rubbing on plastic now after trimming, so it seems to me if I go up 1.5" and go with a 33/12.50 or even a 33.5 I should be ok. I read somewhere to watch the rubbing on the frame. Can anyone speak about this? Don't want to go full 6" lift. I personally think 33s look a little small on a 6" lift. By the way, I'm looking to go with Mickey Thompson MTZs or possibly Toyo open country MT. There is one that measures 33.5, not sure of the actual measurements. Thanks for any help...
