First lift ever

I purchased a 08 Prerunner DB 4X2 LB and looking to do a 3" lift. I've done some searching but a newbie so takes awhile to soak in. The lift will pretty much be for looks since the truck is primarily for commuting and maybe caring around my Yamaha R6. I was planning on just doing it on the cheaper side with spacers or a 3" Toytec lift but was reading UCA were recommended. I came across this deal and thought it would be good for me.

• Toytec 3" lift kit with 885 springs and AAL (Part # OME3-05-AL-885)

• Front OME N140S Shocks

• Toytec Rear Shock Extenders

Includes:FRONT:
(2) OME 885 front lift coil springs, (2) ToyTec Top plate spacers, & (6) top plate studs.
REAR: (2) 2" lift ToyTec Add-a-leafs by Alcan spring (a long add-a-leaf for the best ride), w/OEM style anti-friction Pads, & new leaf spring center pins.

The price would be $900.00 and sounded like a good deal to jump on. Also, would I need to do anything else with brake lines or differential? Thanks.

 

well i think those 885 coils will be too heavy for you. they're for trucks with bumpers and winches and stuff. The rest of the kit sounds pretty good though. The simplest for you would be some Bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks set for 2.5" lift, some UCA's, and then depending on whether or not your truck has the TSB springs under the back, the AAL or a block. I've heard the AAL wont work without modification on the TSB rear springs (they can be identified by loooking under the back of the truck and counting the springs- 3 springs + over load= TSB, 2 springs + overload= non TSB springs)

If you're going to run the OME front shocks, you might as well upgrade the rears to the OME extended shocks as well -- don't forget the longer SS brake lines for the shocks (you'll need these too if you just do shock extenders on the rear)

 

What do I put on the back with OME up front?
