    A few things
So I found a donor set of leafs. Had to cut them down to fit. I added 1 extra leaf to what I already have (tsb leafs, 2" block,1.5"aal). It gave me that extra inch and a half and got rid of the Bro Lean. Actually rides really nice too. A lot better then before. I thought maybe it would be stiff but it's actually nice and dampening. STOKED!! Just want to say thanks for this thread! Wouldn't have even had the idea if it weren't for this.

    Hey Doug,
Any luck in the search for 95-97 stock packs? I searched all of the junkyards and local spring and suspension shops for some and came up dry. Even my WTB thread has nothing but my own BUMPs.

Maybe I'll give my main leafs a try on rebuilding since there are no other options currently for me. You said maybe there is a chance I can use them (main leaf) since you weren't able to see them in person. They honestly don't look too shitty, the military wrap on the pack with the busted leaf has just slid forward but is otherwise identical to the intact pack. Plus the main leaf doesn't have that first 10in. or so bent up so it should meet the criteria. Thoughts?

I saw one for $100. that's pretty steep but if your looking for a specific part that site finds it for you. You've got to remember, those are used part suppliers, not a pick a part yard.

Just moved 1800 miles with my OMD springs lightly loaded (almost 175 lbs of dogs in the bed, plus another hundred pounds in the bed with the dogs, a camper shell that weighs roughly 100 lbs, and 150 lbs of rope on a back porch) and they rode great, they were super comfortable and didn't sag much (~1", but after it got unloaded the back end went right back up).

And I managed to average over 20 MPG on the tanks I've calculated so far.

Question: How well would the ride have been if 300 lbs of rope were on your back porch? Just kidding:rolleyes:

How much lift did you get and can you explain the MPG? I'm quite confused, your sig says 14.5, you're now getting 20, and what did springs have to do with it??

Not sure, the leverage makes it over 300 lbs of weight though.

    Roughly 2.5-2.75"
I drive a lot of city, so my average is extremely low, but if you go in and look at the 5 fill ups you'll see the difference.
Better back high than nose high, IMO it's better for MPG.

Haha , yep , aerodynamically correct, bring on the tail wind for an extra 2 mpg, if feeling sporting draft a semi for an additional bonus of 4 mpg...

I'm still trying to figure out the 150 pounds of rope. That's slot of rope. And how does it being on your back porch figure into the weight on your bed

I could've been behind a big box truck and gotten some more MPG, but I had to follow another vehicle.

My dad works on the docks and got some rope that's about 4" thick, so we threw all we had on the back.
It's weight on the rear suspension, and the leverage multiplies it by some.

Yep, gonna make a bunch of tire swings out of it.

I have to put my old springs back on this weekend so I can tow the trailer. they have different numbers on them. does anyone know if the factory springs are side specific?

Why do you need your old springs to tow a trailer? Seems a little unnecessary
