Looking good chris... one suggestion for the clamp for the emergency brake cable, you can drive a self tapping screw into a spring clamp to hold up out of the way....

The amazing thing is those are the original stock leafs with stock hangers and stock shackles that Doug did his magic to. The simple fact I can get that much articulation and carry a load with basically a stock configuration, and have good access road traveling speeds while maintaining on road comfort and plushness over a top name brand that was 700-800 dollars is amazing.

I just have to say it, why spend more when OMD can make it better!

    Hi!

I just wanted to say Thank You Thank You Thank You OMD, It worked out Great!:yay:

I have a 01 Taco prerunner with a (for some reason) a 4wd off road leaf pack. i compared it to my other prerunner leafs and the ones on the 01 are longer and for sure a little bit better. but it was still sagging a little so i was determined to fix it OMD style...

I got a used a leaf pack from a D250 on CL and just used one leaf on each side so far. the 3rd one from the top, had to cut it a little shorter (2 in) so it wouldnt interfere with the stock leaf pack. gained 3 inches from where it was at, but i figure it will settle after a month or so of driving...

i got the taco used, also from CL... it always had the taco lean. about 1-1.5 inch shorter on the driver sides specially on a full tank... and when i was taking it apart. found the leafs switched. the RH on the Left and LH on the right! now the difference is an inch. 36 both on the front and 37LH and 38Rh. but i figure i installed the driver side wrong... i was raising the leaf when i tightened it. since the front eye has some teeth, i;m going to try to see if i can clock it clockwise and see if i can get rid of the lean altogether..

I do have a question if you dont mind. the spring shackle on the RH is stuck to the eye of the leaf, any suggestion on how i can loosen it and still reuse it?

Again Thank You Thank You OMD! Glad to see your truck is rolling again. :)

Got my new suspension installed. Still need an alignment but went down a decently rutted out dirt road at 35ish and felt like nothing. Went to a parking lot at night and went over a row of like 5 pretty big speed bumps at 40-45 and truck felt like it was running over pebbles[IMG] Thanks Doug!

I added the overload with the hanger. I just tow too often to not have it.

Meh, when you throw on the extra leaf, you'll dump the overload again...

Because unless you tow something with incredible tongue weight , you're not going to exert enough "down force" to compress the leafs enough to "roll" on the overload, not that its quite the same, but for example the last load of steel I took to recycler in my 1st gen. was right at 1380 lbs (with about 2/3rds of it loaded towards the rear, & still had pos. ARC in springs, point is that weight represents down force which far exceeds any tongue weight that a trailer would exert
