I've got the LR UCA's and they've been great. I've wheeled with them pretty hard and they haven't come out of adjustment.

i wheel the piss and i have lr uca's
i will say this i have had alot of problems first my ball joints went to crap witht the lr uca ...called and they sent new ones out at n/c no questions asked......
    great customer service
then i had the bushings go bad in the uca's....called and they took very good care of me and sent out another set of uca's in a matter of days......
the adjustments are great as u can set it any way u like
u will not get as much travel with these as u would with a uni ball.....
i hear they are swiching to poly bushings which should stop all the bushing problems people have been having.......

all in all i would buy them again....
    just my .02

I had alignment issues after 3" lift. Went to the LR's and was able to get alignment completely to specs. I do very little off road as well mainly beach in NC.

885x with 5100s and top plate spacer for full 3", RCD extended 5100s in rear, dakars, flip kit, LR UCAs, tint, shorty antenna, in channel rain guards,BHLM, blacked out emblem, OEM side steps, weathertechs, debadged, rear diff breather
So can anyone comment on the bushings on the LR UCAs? have they switched to the poly bushings? Anyone else wanna chime in on their experience with them?

The boss gave me the go ahead to get them in the GB if i wanted to..............................I WANT TO!!!!!!

I want to wheel some.......not a ton but it the trails with the NE guys once I lift...........live in the salt belt like Pugga said...............and am going for a full 3" up front so I want to be in spec. I could hold off and get TCs or maybe the DSM ones but from what I've been reading they arent needed for my application.

Just wanna hear some more opinions and see if the upgrades have taken place thay were mentioned by BrutalGuy.

The LR UCA's aren't using poly bushings yet. They have upgraded their bushings though and are supposed to be much more durable. This thread was started quite a while ago and their first round of bushings actually wore out on a few people. Generally, SPC (parent company to Light Racing) took care of people. They have since revised their bushings twice and I haven't heard anything negative about the new version. If you want to go with an extended travel coilover, then maybe the uniball style UCA would be more beneficial but for a standard 3" lift from say OME, the LR UCA's are a great choice. If you go with a uniball, make sure you get stainless steel balls so they don't start pitting from the salt.

Ok thanks.......I am doing 885s with billies and def wont be needing extended coilovers. Not yet atleast. I will be doing almost all road driving and just want to lift it and keep alignment in spec. Will be doing a little offroading but nothing crazy. With the group buy price being that good I think I may just get them. Then all I need is a leaf pack and im good.

Thanks for the input. Still on the fence just a little only cuz the TC look so nice:D

Come on over to the New England BS thread. There are local members with the exact lift you're debating, some with LR UCA's and some with the Total Chaos UCA's. You can ask away and see how the different control arms have held up in the salt over the years.

Just to clear up som misinformation that i've seen thrown around since i've been on this forum.... the light racing upper arms WILL work with extended travel coilovers. in fact, if you unbolt the lower shock mount and continue to push the suspension downward (past where if would ever go with a shock mounted), the CV joint starts to bind before you max out the balljoint on the LR arms.

below is a picture of the balljoint without the boot on it. the suspension is at full drop, with Icon's extended travel coilovers fully extended. the balljoint can continue to articulate past here until it make contact with the cup. this will not happen or be an issue however, as long as your suspension is assembled correctly and everything is tight. you are nowhere near damaging the balljoint with extended travel suspension

and for anyone wondering, this is what the new style bushings and balljoints look like. your arms, if ordered new, will be set up just like this, except they will be black. i just chose to repaint mine when i rebuilt them.

Ya.....i lurk there everyday:spy:............once I get a lift I plan on trying to join a trail ride. Thanks

I think Im sold on the LR.............As purty as the TC are for the extra 300 bones the LR will work great.....and with all the salt the boot makes sense too. I can get my dakars and LR for the price of TCs.

When ordering a set of these LR UCA, How would I know if a vendor has the new style or old style? I want to buy from fat bob's cause it looks like they have the best price, but don't want to buy the older ones that have some reported problems. I want the newest and best product.

    Any advice?
