Ok, thanks for the help guys.
    so lets check off
    1. I have to use a spacer so the nub seats safely. check!
    2. I can use a nut as long as it fits in the toytec shims. Check

    3. I am still unsure if I can take off the centerpin with everything virtually installed? Anyone sure I can or can't do this?

Get some 3/8" lock washers and stack them until the head will seat fully in the rear axle. You may need to bore out the shim hole to the OD size of the lock washer. My 2* shim required 3 lock washers on the center bolt.

Other option, if the shim is steel why not bolt it right up with the leaf pack. Them you dont have to worry about any of this. The u bolts are what hold this stuff together anyways.

All right! Great, thanks for all the help guys. I think that answers all my questions.

I am going to put the new wheels and tires on plus align this weekend before shimming. I had a longer drive today and I think most of the vibes are coming from the alignment/tires. I will post my results and pics of the New Icon's lift with AP leafs +Wheels/Tires.

    Thanks

Yes you can remove the center pin while springs are still installed, get some good C clamps & tightly clamp where applicable. I've done this a couple times

still trying to wrap my head around the whole extended pin thing though...

Ahh ok OZ, got it !! & yeah the axle pins i get from ORW are about 6"-7" long & are threaded all the way down so you could get another nut & run it all the way down to the "head" , tighten & use a bench grinder to take the nut down to the same diameter as the spring pin head & theres your extended axle alignment pin.

I've shimmed a few axles in my time & that seems to be quite an extreme amount to shim up to correct drive angle, did you drop the carrier yet ?

I received my toytec 3 deg shims today and I was surprised to see they came with and extended center pin. It was threaded all the way down and I didn't need to rig it with a nut because the kit came with spacers too. Sweet.

We disconnected the U bolts and pushed the axles to the side and shimmed it up. Slapped it back together and took it for a test drive. Most all the vibes disappeared. The driveshaft angles into the pinion look good now.

Alignment is next so hopefully this takes care of the rest of the vibrations.

Bad advice...don't do this. Measure your angles to see where you need to decrease your angles before you do anything

I'm also running expos but I needed the ToyTec shims as my pinion angle was too extreme (delta of about 7 degrees). Shims fixed her right up...no more vibrations
