OME top plate spacers

Hello,

I am ready to buy the OME lift kit from Toytec, but I am not quite sure about the top plate spacers offered in the kit. I know I want the trim spacer for the driver's side lean, but I don't know if I should add the top plate spacer. Price isn't the factor as much as ride quality and appearance.

My question is, will the top plate spacers offered in the kit make the front of the Tacoma sit higher or will it sit level with the back?

I am looking at getting the 2"AAL and LR upper control arms.

Any pictures of a Tacoma with the 10mm spacers and without would be greatly appreciated!

What year/model Tacoma do you have and which OME coils are you getting?

 

2011 double cab

885 coils

I have no bumpers or any added weight

 

Without the trim plates, you should still have some rake. You should gain a little over 2" in the rear with that AAL and about 2.5" in the front with the 885's.

 

I got 2 1/2" up front on my DCLB 4x4 with the 885's , no spacers .

There has been zero settling in 10 months

Your front end seems to sit higher up, do you think this is because of the access cab or the plate spacer?

I'm just trying to find the best combo with the OME setup to have a level sitting truck.

 

Just get the 885's without the spacer and the 2" AAL

My front end does sit a little bit higher because I got the spacer and 885's which are stiffer instead of 884's which are supposed to be for reg. cabs and access cabs.

 

885's are the same spring rate as the 884's, they're just 10 mm taller. If you use 884's on a double cab, you can expect about 2" of lift.

 

dont get the top plate spacers if u r 4x4. it will give u too much lift and ur CVs wont last IMO.

i had the top plate spacers and then took them off

 

885 is formed from the same wire as 884 and spring rate for both is 590#
The difference is 885 is 10mm longer than 884.

Your halfshaft angles are prolly steep and the CV boot fins are rubbing.
I'd take the top spacers out if so.

1.5" Icon 3 Leaf Progressive Add a Leaf Kit

with NO top plate spacers.

found a good deal on this set up but I want to make sure it will look good.

would this be a level lift and able to fit 285s?

I have the 885's and dakars in the rear. The rear sits 3 inches higher then the front, though dakars do give more lift then the aal you have picked out

And yes 285's will fit, you're going to need to do a little trimming though.
