Im planning on getting the 2" aal kit from wheelers for some stiffness and the lift. I'm running on 2" lift blocks and 5100's for my current setup, and I have the rear spring TSB. I've read Chris's write up, but I was wondering if you guys would be able to help me out with some questions.

    1. Would I be able to still use the lift blocks with the aal? My thoughts are that it should work, but wanted a second opinion. This may/ may not answer other questions I have.

    2. Would I need extended brake lines? I'm thinking that if I just go with the aal by itself, I should be fine, but if I am able to use the aal with the lift blocks, maybe I'd need extended lines?

    3. How would this lift/combo (aals + blocks) work with my parking brake lines? Currently my lift blocks Fo not allow me to bolt the small hangers back to the frame, which doesn't bother me, or cause any problems.

    4. Would the longer U bolts that came with my lift block kit be compatible with the aal's? Currently, there is still some thread left over on the bolts.

    5. What shocks could you reccommend? My 5100's aren't that plush, and seem to bottom out/ max out when going over potholes and speed bumps. Are they not intended for lifted rears?

    6. Anything else you wanna mention? Tips/advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Mike

Ive heard that stacking lifts is usually frowned upon, just wanted to hear what others have to say about it. Is the aal worth buying vs lift blocks?

In my opinion, yes. Lift blocks do nothing to help with suspension travel, they can wear out the stock leaf pack quicker and promote axle wrap/make axle wrap worse.

If you have a 2" block now, swapping it out for a 2" AAL would be pretty straight forward. Why were you thinking about stacking them?

    .
I have a wheeler's 2 inch aal and 5100's, it is recommended to use new u bolts but if you have newish ones with the blocks then you should be ok. I don't think it is a good idea to add the block. I wanted to do mine right without dropping the $ for a whole new leaf pack. I have heard nothing but bad things about blocks
