Is there any hard evidence that the diff drop isn't effective?

Because the diff drop spacer only lowers the front diff mount, the CV is lowered by about half the spacer thickness. A 1/2" diff drop lowers the CV ~1/4". A 1.5" diff drop lowers the CV ~ 0.75", etc. So you lose quite a bit of ground clearance for a small improvement in CV angle, which defeats the purpose of lifting to begin with.

stopped by toyota today and they r going to fix it friday. so you guys think .85 will fix it or 0 be better. but won't that take the lift away and defeat the whole point of getting it.

.85, which when coupled with the lift springs will give you about 2.5" of lift... which is the max height you should be lifting when using the stock upper control arm.

That information would've been useful earlier...

Did you buy these as completed assemblies?

I see, so the top plate spacer you mentioned is the 1/4" piece on the driver side only to correct for the Taco lean. That's fine. Set both 5100s to .85 (second snap ring setting from the bottom) and you are good to go.

Funny how the Toytec page even suggests the second snap ring setting.

i went and looked and it has one top plate spacer on each side for full 3in lift like it said on the site and one more 1/4 for drivers side lean. will .85 still work

What thickness are the spacers ( other than the 1/4" lean spacer ) , 1/2" ?

Eibachs and billies at .85 should get you 2 1/2" of lift . The top plate spacers add about another 3/4" according to Toytec's site , AND you have a 1/4" lean spacer which will add about 3/8" of lift .

If it was me , i would do the lean spacer , but not the top plate spacers , but that may leave you at slightly less than 3"

^ X2. I would not run the 1/2" top plate spacers. With the stock upper control arms you already have much reduced caster compared to stock height. That's why most sites do not recommend going over 2.5" total lift with stock control arms.

What is your plan for the spacers ?
